Our Statement of Intent: The American Naturopath's Association is dedicated to supporting and empowering the many types of traditional naturopaths and students of natural medicine throughout the nation, while evolving the profession and serving the community through our Scope of Practice, continuing education, events, and activities. ANA, along with all ANA members, continue to define the naturopath and traditional naturopath identity. Newsbrief:- from our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/American-Naturopaths-Association/156499557742007?ref=hl American Naturopaths Association · 213 like this A longer range mission? Development of schools - and helping our members establish them. Traditional naturopaths are natural teachers. Teacher Training programs within existing schools will help accomplish this, as will the support of membership within the ANA itself. "Naturopath" is a generic term, and much like "energy medicine", or "artist", we do not allow this term to be taken from us by legislation. "ND" is traditionally used by naturopaths all over the country who have completed training in the field of traditional naturopathy. They earned the designation by successfully completing courses of study, and have no reason to abdicate the credential. We are a professional association in support of the many kinds of naturopaths, and practitioners of natural medicine who have completed certifications and diplomas in natural medicine and traditional naturopathy. We are immersed in biology and natural sciences all of our lives! This puts us in a position to observe, assess, discern, and draw conclusions based on evidence. It is a fallacy that this capacity is not available to all of us. Integration of natural science and spirituality is our BIRTHRIGHT, not something to be metered out in laboratories or churches. Traditional naturopathy teaches us to develop and implement this absolute truth " |
